We are not Walmart. Quit trying to run the company like it's a big box store. We are a service industry, not a sales industry.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Better pay, better training, fewer hours. Understand that no one works at Block as a career. Your work force is housewives, retirees, college students, and those wanting a second job; people who just want a little extra.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We earn the same as the kid next door flipping burgers, but yet we have to know and do so much more. Even the store managers! Pay us fairly! $20 for tax pros and $30 for office leaders, and don't cut our pay because we don't earn our commission.
