As a seasonal Tax Preparer for many years I do like the office that I work in. We are fun, knowledgeable, team oriented, and readily available to help each other when needed. I know that a lot of people have different experiences in the retail offices so situations will vary.
What makes you most happy at work?
Being able to help our customers. Getting to see my returning clients each year.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The local office staff is amazing and good to bounce ideas or concepts off of. Expanding out of our local office, there are many other staff that truly care about education and training during the off season.
What did you like most about the interview process?
As we technically have to interview and get hired each year, it is an easy process if you have been with them year-over-year. I do know that you will need to verify your tax law/tax prep knowledge before being hired.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Unfortunately we have gone though many different store managers over the past handful of years, finding one that works best is always hard. The district manager is good, but demanding (in a good way). Senior level leadership has really improved their listening capabilities of feedback from the field
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
For the most part it is a positive office. We are there to help our customers get the most accurate tax return possible. When I have a 85%+ return rate on clients it is great to see familiar faces each year. Now sometimes the 'corporate/district' noise gets some negative reactions, but they are few.
