Instead of feeling like I need/want to be here...I feel like I HAVE to be here to feed/care for my family. It was not always this way. A lot of that is due to feeling "ostracized" because I am not a "social" person. Work is work...not where I want to socialize. Yet if you don't...you are weird.
Quality and customer satisfaction used to be priority. I was proud of the company and proud to be affiliated. Now, quality is out the door as quantity becomes the priority - we lay off our own, 10+ year veteran employees who need their jobs to outsource it to India. Ashamed to be left behind.
I have been allowed to work from home. So I anm no
Too much emphasis on frivolous stuff and not enough on making our clients happy.
Most of them are willing to jump in an help each other in the case of absence, or difficulty with a task. They are, overall, a good Team to work with.
At this point...seeing the work being outsourced to India and good people being laid off while crappy people are kept on board - nothing but money is going to make me feel better.
Really don't have anything positive to say about the company these days. My group, they are great - but outside of that - you can keep it - it has no value to me.
Truly realize what "diversity" is. In this new world of diversity and inclusion...the workforce is a majority of the "younger" generation - the older generations are trampled over, ignored. Just because we are old, doesn't automatically mean we are ignorant, biased or no longer valuable.
Leadership has gone through the motions of appearing to be supportive during a period of personal tragedy however at the same time I was penalized by negatively affecting both my position and ultimately my finances under the guise of "working" with me and misleading exactly what changes were coming.
Lack of honesty, transparency, integrity, common sense. Used to have that - not any more. No trust in what is said. Not reinforced by actions or compensation. Watched the last couple of years as short-timers are promptly rewarded for being experts at deception and brown-nosing.
Best things are of the remaining ones - the ones that have been here for a long while - they are good at their jobs. Newer people - who supposedly had experience when they were brought on - they are lazy and do not know what they claimed to know.
Not rocket science here - when you lay off a member of the team who is high performing and who has tenure of over 10 yrs and outsource her job to India - that is just outrageous. No gray areas - no doubt - have lost absolute faith/trust in this company.
My team is a group of very hard-working folks, to the point, we often work ourselves to exhaustion. We have a strong ethic of loyalty to the job being done and done right - worrying less about attention and spotlight - just do the job and be able to afford to feed our families.
My immediate manager let's me know my value to him and the team and I feel necessary to the organization. But then I see people on our Team being pulled to work for another Team because they are "so" busy...yet they stand around and waste alot of time while our Team members are doing their job.
When headcount was needed because it was given to the "squeaky wheel" group - we couldn't get it back when we were busy. Then, instead of giving us back out headcount/people - now we are outsourcing to India and laying off people. We are bleeding customers - some who have been with us for 10+ year
I was a very loyal Manager who never took time off and worked ungodly hours but due to a personal tragedy, I was forced to be gone a lot over the last year. When that started, I was advised my position was changing. Now I am a Lead, yet I am making about the same as my Jr Team Members.
