I have been here for years. At first, I absolutely loved my job. But over the years, my position seemed to become more of a bother to management than a benefit. Then staff morale plummeted and the "mass exodus" began. Now I am in a different part of the hospital, and again, I love my job!
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My current leadership team is wonderful. Very interested in every one of us, always present and really willing to help.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The team I am working with now is very positive, we all like our jobs, and we all get along. It is a wonderful atmosphere to work in.
What makes you most happy at work?
I like when it is busy. I like meeting different people every day. I like to think I can make someone smile even if they don't feel well.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
If I am talking about "the whole company", I would say the culture I hear and see most often is dissatisfied, unappreciated and overworked. However, in my area, we are a positive group, sometimes we are overworked but who isn't, and our manager treat us with respect.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I am not a nurse, but I think they should be paid better. However, in my position, if I am truly valuable to the team, I should be able to be paid incentive pay even if it's only a little. It would help us feel like we belong here and that our job is helpful in tough times.
