I love Northside. I was a northside scholar in nursing school, i have worked here for years and want to retire with northside. However, the department I am currently in, directed by Bessie Smith is horrific. I have never worked for someone who gets off on making you feel small and insignificant.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They are very judgmental; they do not care nor wish to understand that this job is not your life. The week i started in this department, they judged me and assumed what they wanted and have not been kind or respectful ever since.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Being a leader! My leadership appears to have no leadership training. they have been given a leadership position without knowing anything about the actual role. They are horrible. It is hard to fault them for not having any training but at the same time, they hold grudges, they target, they manipula
What makes you most happy at work?
The thought of not working in this department and my director being let go for how horrible she is. She is HITLER! I have never worked for a person as horrible as she is. BESSIE SMITH needs to be fired! She literally mocked an autistic employee. She is a narcissist and egomaniac.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I would like to be paid enough to live without concurring debt. It is not unknown that the wage we get paid is not keeping up with inflation. I have no school or credit card debt and am still living paycheck to paycheck. HOW?! I have 2 children to take care of, I can't continue like this!
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
The director of the department needs to be let go! This is a very nice position, but the director has ruined the department. Everyone fears her and hates her at the same time. half of the team is looking for a new position. no one respects her. She is a dictator, you cannot have a voice or opinion.
