The Salvation Army Interviews Employee Reviews

What did you like most about the interview process?

Felt personal and positive at the time

Thorough and well done by manager

Review from Operations Dept

The simplicity and ease of the interview

I got my job offer within an hour of my interview and it was somewhat fast

At the time before the new staff came it was honestly fair

Review from Admin Dept

Nothing after they put us to work same day

Review from Customer Success Dept

I applied more then 8 times before i recieving a call for an interview

It was quick and to the point.

Review from Sales Dept

the thought that went into the questions asked

Review from Marketing Dept

Thorough. You undergo a thorough criminal background check followed by email then face-to-face interview.

Review from Marketing Dept

Felt very comfortable and at ease.

The transparency involved in the process.

I felt I was going to work for a positive company where people would be supportive and kind

Review from Customer Success Dept

The local management at the time was great. Since they left its been all down hill.

the people on the panel were warm and engaging

Review from Customer Success Dept

Lots of questions, very nice.

Review from Communications Dept

My own interview was fine; it just takes a long time to make offers, check references, get new hires approved.

It was non-threatening or intimidating.

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

10 weeks to get hired?! It's retail, minimum wage; complete lack of communication between corporate and local

Dont just throw people out there

There are forms pre signed for the hiring process.

Let the professionals (not the officers) do the interview. A person should not be hired because they had a cute dress on. One gentleman (who was qualified for the position) was not hired because his shirt was wrinkly.

Be on time, I was offered a salary that was changed at date of hire, very unprofessional

Review from Operations Dept

Explain the work week day hours etc. don't promise employees hours and then don't for fill your promise

It took me about an actual month to get officially hired and I was told I’d be the assistant manager as all my duties were of an assistant manager yet I was labeled as senior sales associate because of jealousy that customers enjoyed coming in to talk to me and not the manage

Review from Sales Dept

Spend more time with the person
