I am really impressed with how down to earth and open they are. I've had 1:1 get to know you meetings with the CEO, CFO and CTO, something I've never had at other companies.

Leadership is transparent but also easy to chat with if there are concerns. They do their best to make sure we are enabled and focus on building a kind and open team, newer managers seem to be doing a great job ensuring engineers get their time back and get their questions answered as needed.

My manager is very encouraging of positive things and is good at making gentle course corrections for things that could be improved. It feels like they really care about my development and the product development, too.

They get to know everyone and they have activities to bring a fully remote team together. They spend a lot of time thinking about ways to make Scuba a great place to work and it shows.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Better than market-rate pay for my role, reimbursement for lunches, company trips, decent parental leave

I think this often gets overlooked, but the fact that my insurance (PPO, I'm unaware of what the other tiers are like) seems to be comprehensive and run into no issues is a big win that is often overlooked, especially in a post pandemic world where it's tough to get appointments, one less hurdle, A+

people keep helping each other. and bugs are not treated as personal failings.

I feel like I can be myself at work, including how I dress, speak, think, etc. I've never felt like my questions or opinions or ideas were unwelcomed, even as a newcomer.

Managers are good at giving shoutouts and kudos, weekly town halls give employees a chance to share interests in addition to company news. Employees will shoo each other off if they catch someone working on declared PTO... time off and "life outside of work" is very well respected.
