Make it more market competitive. Every other good company is offering way more money and benefits than SPS Commerce.

It has become a chore where the focus is not on productivity but just filling seats in the office,

The market average is quite a fair bit higher. This is very evident from recruiters and job offers from other companies.

The compensation is low compared to what is being offered in the market, especially looking at the post-COVID remuneration and benefits being offered.

Listening to their employees and not forcing decisions upon them. Be more attuned to the market so you do not end up losing employees.

Understanding that working conditions and incentives have changed post-pandemic and do not hold tight to ancient beliefs of just clocking in and out in the office.

The culture used to be good, but having inconsistent rules across the organisation like variation in WFH rules based on which manager you have have degraded the culture.

Make it more market competitive. Of the 3 jobs that I am interviewing for, they all offer way more for the same position and in a much larger organisation.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Look after your employees and try to retain resources. We can't keep losing resources all the time and become a training ground for our competitors. It also puts more pressure on people who are staying.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

One of our values is Employees Come First; however, the post-COVID changes have shown that this is definitely not the case. Employees are being forced to change their established lives by doing more days in the office without any reasonable or measurable rationale.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Understand they are dealing with people and they need to keep their teams motivated so they can do a great job, rather than bullying them into doing tasks. The mandatory return to office is a clear example of a failed strategy where workplace morale is down and employees are planning to jump ship.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

I used to be excited. Now it more of a burden where I need to show up in the office and work in isolation again just to show work from office days. This is very inconvenient and I know my productivity has gone down. We should move to a remote working environment with maybe 1 day in the office.
