SPS Commerce is an outstanding organization to work for. When I go to work each morning I truly believe that everyone I interact with from my coworkers to my manager and C-level have my best interest in mind. The community of people who put we before me is inspiring and helps us get things done.
I feel appreciated in every aspect besides compensation. My manager cares about me, the leadership team is great, and the company is headed in the right direction. But we continue to lose talent due to poor compensation within some departments and that is leading to poor customer experiences.
The Employee Stock Purchase Plan
My coworkers are the best part of my job.
Clear, transparent vision with goals and a plan to reach it.
Half of my team is highly engaged and helpful. The other half provides little to no value.
We are continually growing. With that there are always new opportunities, always new tasks, and always new faces to meet.
People truly want to grow and learn. It leads to a culture where people are trying to be innovative and push forward.
From my manager through the C-suite there is outstanding communication. I understand my role, I understand the companies vision, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.
Everyone is treated in an outstanding way, but from a compensation standpoint there are segments of the company that are treated as more important. The jobs not within that realm are often paid below the market rate.
Everyone works together. We all have our own tasks, but it is also very much a win and lose together attitude. If someone needs help everyone is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
I am trusted to get my work done. I know what is expected. There is not someone looking over my shoulder watching me. I am treated like an adult. If I need to step away for an hour to complete a task for my personal life that is acceptable.
The leadership team has a clear vision and is able to communicate it to the team in a way that gets everyone excited. They are always there to help, always have an open door, and are always open and excited to have conversations to see how things could be imporved.
Once you are in the door the company does not look at the value you give. I exceeded expectations on my annual review and still got a raise below expected inflation rate in 2023. It is very hard to get exceeds, and even when you do you are not recognized or compensated for it.
A true team experience. When a tight deadline approaches it is an all hands approach. We work together to make the deadline and have a true we instead of me culture leading to teamwork and collaboration throughout the process. I know if I am in a pinch my coworkers will help me and vice versa.
I can be myself. Nearly every year at the organization I have either been promoted or given an outstanding employee review, yet I am still able to laugh and have a good time with coworkers. Our team has a range from EXTREME introverts to EXTREME extraverts and yet we all are able to be ourselves.
I have never once had a moment that I didn't have something to do or wasn't sure what to do. It is extremely rare that I feel stressed as well. We get a lot of things done and very quickly, but there are realistic time lines and understanding when things go wrong leading to a great culture.
