I think SPS is an AWESOME place to work, with solid MN values, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, a commitment to ongoing improvement. My manager is awesome! The people I work with are great, considerate and always willing to work through issues together.
I do think that the annual review and raise process is solid.
I appreciate that they seem to try be pretty transparent in their actions.
I love the diversity of my team! Team culture is strong, positive and polite.
The variety and challenges. Seems like no two days are the same, which I love!
Hybrid and work from home - again that employees are cordial and considerate of each other.
They are really good about having a clear vision and providing employees with visibility into the direction the company is moving in.
Work variety, getting to solve "puzzles", internal and external collaboration. Doing work that truly matters. Ability and desire to improve internal processes.
How transparent and available they are. We just had a Social event where I spent 15 minutes chatting with our CEO and his wife. Amazing access!
I love that they do a company stock match. Not a benefit I have seen elsewhere. That match in addition to the match on the 401k seems more generous when compared with other companies.
I love how active everyone is on zoom and slack. I work best from home and SPS supports that through actively connecting us using technology. Those that do better in an office setting have that option as well!
the work/tasks of the job, the people, (before RTO- working remotely made me very happy as it substantially increased my personal time and made me more than happy to work longer hours since I wasn't spending that time commuting.)
Truly diverse and I love that the company has us all go through an insight discovery and then our main personality characteristics are shared with our team, along with tips for how to best communicate with other personality types. Hugely insightful!
There is a level of cordiality among SPSers that is not common in other companies. Cultural fits (new hirers) are important to the company. My team is diverse and always willing to lend a hand to help each other. LOVE my team.
BEFORE RTO I would have said the amazing collaboration that takes place over zoom and slack which allows for focused time to complete tasks without external distraction. Infrequent (1/month) meetings in the office created the feeling of it being an "event" - increasing excitement & collaboration.
I feel like there is no reward for employee loyalty. YOY raises seem abysmal, especially given consistent company growth. There seems to be a cap on what employees moving between positions can be paid. (Even if the standard pay for that role is significantly higher for an external hire.)
