It's a good company that has been secure to work for, and has great people. It's also been very disorganized and I don't feel like my career is going anywhere here. I was recently moved into a new role and am now on my third manager at SPS. It's hard to see the path here.
What makes you most happy at work?
My team is fun to spend time with.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Stability of the role, people seem to like their work and the company.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Tight knit, collaborative team. We all get along really well. I do really like my team.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Paying people fairly. I am about 30% below market rate in my position. There are no bonuses and benefits have gotten worse. My merit increase was 1% this year. We always talk about another quarter of growth but why should the average employee care?
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
My position should get paid about 30% more. the ESPP is not an attractive perk when the stock isn't performing and the needs to be additional compensation for the high workload at SPS. Merit increase of 1% is not competitive and not good enough. it should be 7% - 10%.
