SPS Commerce – I was impressed with the company when I first started. Now it seems that the goals/values are performative and when things get real (economic crash) employees are moved to >2nd priority. Geoffrey Moore isn't the god of what companies should do. I would suggest a more holistic approach. | Comparably

Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

I wish we had paid sick days or paid maternity leave. I can't see myself having a decades long career here because the PTO benefits are lower than average and I won't be able to balance that in the future if I'm to grow my family.

The comradery with my coworkers. Unfortunately lately we have been bonding over how out-of-touch the c suite is.

What are some of the best things about your team?

They are empathetic people who care about me as an individual. They are smart and are always willing to jump in and help me with an issue.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Listening and understanding that in this economy, adding ridiculous and pointless stipulations such as 40% of time needs to be in office without justification or substitution is cruel

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Leadership MUST get better at listening. The recent changes with back to office with zero justification other than "collaboration" are being received as unempathetic toward the lower paid hourly employees during this horrendous economy. Do better.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

I know I'm not being paid fairly. I know others are not being paid fairly. I know for a fact my position had a higher start rate in 2018 than it does now in 2023. I'm using this as a launchpad for the next best thing.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

I do not like going to the office. It costs me money in parking, child care, lunch, my mental health, being away from my home... If you're going to force us to be in person, start subsidizing and stop preaching about "journey to $1B". Such a slap in the face.
