I would make sure all team members know they are valued year round by giving those that want or need them stable, full time hours year round. We can be told we are valued, but when our hours are cut on a regular basis because sales are temporarily down due to normal fluctuations and management is well aware that this is placing us in danger of homelessness, we do not feel valued. As a matter of fact, two people on my team have become homeless while working for Target due in part to this payroll budget policy. We are not paid well enough to save up to cover these times, so put your money where your platitudes are and show us how much we are valued. Right now the message we are getting is 'you are not valued very much'.

Stop hiring ETL's and STL's straight out of college, experience is more important than a degree. Stop cutting payroll in order to save money. You are nothing without your team members, treat them like they are the most important employees in your company, because they are. Make the integrity hotline useful, it has a reputation for not getting anything accomplished and not being anonymous.

Decent wages don't amount to much with fewer hours. Excellent benefits are not beneficial to those who won't qualify due to reduced schedules. If you want a job done well, be certain teams are trained properly. Inciting discord by lousy corporate decisions is a sure way to lose quality team members. It might save on payroll, but guests see the difference.

If they want to promote a culture that makes Target a "great place to work" they should start with having reasonable goals and achievable expectations from their employees. They need to stop playing favorites and only promoting people based on who they like. They need to stop cutting payroll literally ALL the time. Being on constant backup is completely absurd.

I would change how they treat their empowering. I would treat my employees like family and understand that a lot of their workers aren’t fortunate to have everything like transportation, childcare to make sure they can keep coming into work and performing like they expect us to come in and work.

The way the registers are set up - they are in a zig zag pattern and it’s hard for the guests to move past one register to get to another- this is not a good set up

Fire all DTL, ETL, and TL and hire caring leaders that actually LEAD and not micromanage or dictate the team

Promote from within, not these kids coming out of college who don't know anything but act like they know everything

I know that there needs to be a balance in everything. Time management would help to achieve balance.
