Depends, stores need to have people on what they call the bench ready to send to interviews as needed. They should have a few ready each year to look good on their part. Really depends on how many stores are in your area. Coming from the Austin TX area that has plenty of stores we typically had 4 a year going to interviews to be signed off and ready to put in position in stores in the area. I personally went from seasonal to GSA within a few months then to GSTL in about 2 years to SR-TL after holding about 4 different TL positions. But I do agree many times it's all about how much you kiss up to people. I was always told you can't get ETL without a degree but knew people without a degree who got promoted over those who had a degree. Simply because they were friends more with HR, also helps to look like Ken and Barbie. I had an old really hard working SR-TL leave because she was tired of being told she didn't dress the part even though she had a bachelor's degree.
I’m a TL at 5 months but it’s something I’m on top of constantly as I’m still learning leadership. I go out of my way to help as much as I can and do so whether others notice or not. Be unlike everyone else and you’ll be recognized. Timing helps too
I got hired on April 1st of 2020 and I got promoted to SETL just before my 8th month it’s not the norm but it is possible I started as cart wiper and just moved through cashier to guest service at a rapid pace.
Depends on what your store needs. We have some few who were promoted 6 months after being hired. Sometimes, they are promoted too soon.
It's fairly easy to get promoted to team lead, above that it's who you know and how well they like you.
This varies from case to case but the higher the need and the lower the competition, the easier it is.
It better off start from the bottom you keep working hard you could get promoted…
Not very we have people eager to move forward but nothing is done about it
Promotions are very rare. For many positions the company prefers to hire from outside.
Usually promised promotion upon hiring, then 2-3 year wait, depending on terminations and transfers.
Promotions are very political. If they like you, you get promoted
It depends on who you know and how well you lie.
Not so quickly until proven
Depends upon your performance.
