This is a great place to work but the pay is horrible. Most places are starting new medical assistants at $22-$25 and I am not even close to that. The last time I got paid this low was in 2016, it is now 2023. I have to live with my parents because I cannot afford a home.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I have been a medical assistant for 20 years so I feel like my level of pay is not fair. I get paid under the starting pay from last year and I was never adjusted when that change was made. The cost of living is high and I cannot afford a home for my children and I. I do not feel valued at all.
