Victra was founded as a partnership by Richard and David Balot in October 1996 in Wilson, North Carolina. Victra was incorporated as ABC Phones of North Carolina, Inc. in 1999. Today, Victra is independently owned and operated in Raleigh, North Carolina, with more than 200 people in the Store Support Center. In 2020, Victra opened its Communications Center, employing hundreds of team members who handle Verizon Consumer, Business, and Customer Care calls, along with Victra store support. Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
My experience has been mixed. I’ve had great leaders who shaped my growth, but many are gone. Leadership isn’t consistent across the company. We need a better strategy to attract and support top talent, not rely on resilience to manage chaos we fail to prepare

Constantly looking for ways to improve my work environment, sharing ideas and best practices with my Victra community, and reading the team chat to see everyone having fun
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
I really enjoy my coworkers and appreciate what everyone brings to the team. At times, competition shows up as snarky remarks, which can create tension. I’m grateful for our leader’
What makes you most happy at work?
What makes me most happy at work is feeling valued and having a sense of purpose. When my strengths are recognized and built upon, it motivates me to grow, perform, and invest even more in my work and the team.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I really loved the training we did with our former DM. It was organized as multi-store sessions where we focused on what made us money and spent time role-playing after each training. It was some of the most valuable and impactful training we ever had. The golden threads.
