Victra was founded as a partnership by Richard and David Balot in October 1996 in Wilson, North Carolina. Victra was incorporated as ABC Phones of North Carolina, Inc. in 1999. Today, Victra is independently owned and operated in Raleigh, North Carolina, with more than 200 people in the Store Support Center. In 2020, Victra opened its Communications Center, employing hundreds of team members who handle Verizon Consumer, Business, and Customer Care calls, along with Victra store support. While no company is perfect, working here has been invaluable. The constant changes are challenging, but the investment in people's growth has made me a better leader and person. I've learned and grown so much in the last five years - something I couldn't say at other jobs.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They have been transparent for the most part. Also they make focuses clear.
What makes you most happy at work?
Growing my people. It has been rewarding to grow as a leader with this company and grow other leaders.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
What I mean is the compensation for mileage and vehicle maintenance does not adequately reflect the wear and tear from daily travel across various locations. The costs for gas and car repairs are higher than in any previous role and I believe this aspect should be re-evaluated. Not undervalued.
