promotions are slow and pay rate is at par with inflation. You don't feel like you progress much over time. Takes a long long time

Performance is no measured accurately enough in terms of value. So while you generate value X you receive compensation Y which are not aligned well. If you make or save a lot of money - you should be rewarded in relative to your contribution, not just "performance"
