After 15 years with Sabre, it's been an interesting journey and I feel all-in-all happy with the outcome.
It's been an interesting journey so far. Always challenged, although recognition does not always come at the expected time.
The diversity factor can be seen everywhere
I cannot think of a good example
Bonus, stock options, and time off
Being available to support each other when needed.
Having the chance to interact with very knowledgeable people.
Dealing with technical challenges that impact on people's lives
For the most part, teams are open to collaborate with others
They show concern about the technological challenges we face and invest to overcome them
People are generally easy to work with. They are friendly and down to earth.
They take ownership and drive initiatives through the finish line regardless of the challenges they face
While work is still to be done, the leadership team has invested significantly in improving the employee experience.
The willingness to keep the entire company up to speed on what's happening with Sabre and with the industry overall
Collaboration and transparency. The collective knowledge of the business, along with the technical experience makes up for a very robust team.
Merit budget should consider the funds necessary to move your top performers "ahead of the pack" while providing everybody else a fair salary increase factoring in market position, cost of living, and individual performance. The current system penalizes OK performers.
It takes a long time for the company to align employees' income to what the market is actually paying. Making mid-point the target for all employees when the Merit Cycle kicks in should not be the thumb rule when internal salary bands are out of sync with the market.
