Been here 27 years... seen a lot of changes good & bad - currently things are good, but with the travel industry being so chaotic with recessions & COVID, I always wonder about layoffs and never feel confident about my job (I was furloughed in 2020, which destroyed any confidence I used to have).
The work-from-home policy (I live in a remote city) is extremely valuable. I find that I and willing and happy to give MORE to Sabre because I don't have to waste time/money on gas, lunches out, etc. However I am getting increasingly concerned about the salary stagnation.
Fun sense of humor - more is better!
Flexibility with working times, location, and great trust.
Talent and flexibility with timezones
Flexibility to work from home
Hard to say - I am unsure about the new CEO
they work around the clock and take ownership (even though they should not have to!)
Sabre's small enough to kind-of know everyone and understand the big picture, and it's big enough to have competitive benefits and job security.
Knowing that I want to retire in about 6-7 years and that I am happy to think that I might complete my career with Sabre
Raise %s in recent years have been very short of the rate of inflation, which effectively is a DECREASE in salary. Pay is also below tech industry averages.
Trust and commitment. We are all scattered & remote & international, but KNOW we can always count on everyone! And we have one of the BEST managers right now (Nisha)!!
I am not only an employee, but a substantial stock holder. I am very disappointed in the recent emphasis put on DEI and also Climate concerns, which I think work against Sabre being the most profitable company it can be.
Raises were delayed this year, I guess? Not sure why. I have also been seeking a promotion from Principal to Senior Principal for 12 YEARS and despite getting above average reviews I am simply told "we can't do that".
Have raises keep up with the rate of inflation. And the recent recategorization essentially moved me down to a lower type of job role because my unique role didn't "fit" with the potential existing options - well - create a new role!!
Hours are WAY too long... I've been raising this issue for years, but I've had six managers in five years so nothing ever changes. I always hear we don't have budget for more people on my team, yet the expectation is that we're all superheroes and will keep up the level of work regardless. Boo.
I've been with Sabre ~30 years. Over time I stopped joining town halls, all-hands mtgs - it was the "same old same old", never seemed relevant enough to my specific job to burn my hours on. NOW I do join - these calls are SO much more useful & relevant now! Good improvement, Props to the leaders!
