This is a company built on contacts and relationships - for good and bad. It's hard to break into the upper levels of the company without those relationships, and there a legacy culture around them. The company needs more managers who are trained as managers, and have worked in other places.

Redlands area is a very expensive location to live and there are no adjustments made for the cost of living. Starting families is very hard and recruiting talent to the area is challenging. Making an adjustment to the cost of living and the contributions made by staff at HQ would be significant.
