It would be better if I was at a location where we had an office, but Sabre closed it's office space in Winston-Salem NC in 2006. Over the years I have learned to adapt to being a remote employee, but I used to be excited (pre-COVID) when the company would fly me to Dallas to be in the office.

It is challenging at times, and satisfying when we are able to help others resolve difficult problems.

Definite vison and ability to convey that openly to employees

Ability to work with others regardless of location or first language

Talented and knowledgeable in their respective fields, ability and willingness to communicate and explain.
What makes you most happy at work?
Geeting involved with other application teams to help them design and to resolve issues.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
We have a clear vision on where we are headed and they communicate that down to the lowest employee level
What are some of the best things about your team?
All are knowledgeable in their own individual areas of expertise and good at sharing that knowledge. There's good communication between team members and other teams.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Most of the team are very good at sharing the uniqueness of their own cultures, so we can better understand and appreciate each other's cultures
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Good but not great medical benefits. I think UHC sometimes have too much influence. e.g. required 90-day supply of prescriptions, persistent denial of a PET Scans requested by my oncologist.
