This company is stuck in the 60s era and refusing to move to the new tech era of 2023 or utilize new programming languages. There is a lot of waste in almost all departments and processes are heavy which slows down the process. But, overall is good.
What makes you most happy at work?
Seeing my team members openly convo about issues and asking me to help them resolve them.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They are in different time zones and it is hard to engage with them. Some of them are in the same location as our manager and get privileged treatment which is considered a form of discrimination based on location.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Focus on learning not to micromanage and have an Agile mindset. Bringing new technology and encouraging innovation instead of creating assembly lime culture. in getting Agile coaches from outside of the company to help to set the correct way of doing Agile. Agile = speed
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I have a master's degree, but I was hired at a senior level. Nobody talked to me about how to move up to the principal level or adjust my level to the principal when HR was changing job titles. The management is not invested in helping their employees on their career path even though I kept asking.
