There is a culture to overwork and stretch people without recognition, merit adjustments or promotions unless you are in a sales role. The company sends the direct message that what you do does not matter unless you are in a sales role and that you need to constantly change roles for progression.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
recognizing contribution outside of sales roles. Appropriate merit & T&I budgets for non-sales roles. Balanced workloads and appropriate staffing levels for the objectives set.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Workload consistently increased (double, triple) without any change to compensation, recognition or promotion. Appropriate merit budgets and promotions in role that are appropriately funded.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Better recognition for the contributions of non-sales roles so that all areas feel the work they do matters. Enable teams to meet at least once every few years. Most teams outside of sales never get to meet each other.
