Vertafore has been a wonderful place to work. I feel supported, challenged, and invested in. As an engineer, it is by far the best company I've worked for in terms of work-life balance. Benefits are also very generous, and flex PTO and all the paid holidays are so helpful for recharging!
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Vertafore is not without its pain points, but overall there is good opportunity for advancement, a well-rounded benefits package, and a stable work environment. There can be significant variance in overall experience depending on your people manager and team.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The efforts towards DEI. The general sense of economic stability.
What makes you most happy at work?
When I get tasks across the finish line, particularly if they are new or challenging.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Some people need their egos checked. But mostly there is too much pressure which makes people unavailable to collaborate.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I'll particularly shout out Amy for bold and honest leadership of our culture and direction, and Liz for consistent warmth and technical wisdom as she leads the teams. Generally, top leaders all seem invested from what I can see.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Historically it has seemed like corporate policy really chokeholds managers in what they can offer their teams, or at least that is how it seems to be presented. "This is the best we can do because HR sets the pay grades." There should be more flexibility in this if that is true.
