The leadership team needs to get better at listening to employees. We want to do a good job, but we often don't have all the resources or training we need .

They consistently undervalued their employees. Compensation is far below market average, and while they say they promote from within, this isn't true (with exceptions when they literally can't fill a position because the compensation is so low).

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
This year, average-performing employees received a 3% raise. Exceptional employees, of which there are very very few, received a 5% raise. In a year of over 7% inflation that means we all effectively received a pay cut. I personally do not feel compensated or even recognized for doing a great job.

Vertafore tends to hire under qualified people, and generally hires the first(and usually only) person to accept the job. Working with some of my co workers is a nightmare.

The culture of the (original) Vertafore is great. People work together and are very collaborative. We frequently have fun together. But with new ownership, that culture could be in danger.

Vertafore leadership listens to employees and implements impacting changes to improve everyone's work life. Topics such as empowerment, work/life balance etc are evolving to each employees benefit.

The best thing about the environment is that we're all working from home right now - there isn't a whole lot I miss about the office. The best thing about our culture is that we stick together and support each other as a team, at least in my department.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Organization set up to allow for clear communication and workflows. A move away from everyone as a resource and the attempt to squeeze every penny out of people, process, and activity. And when something is done (benifits/perks) they are done well not to a minimum that meets a marketing line.

Vertafore continually says "it's a family here" and literally never does anything to back it up. It's not a family, they just tell people that to get people to sign on, and then everyone quits after a year.

What did you like most about the interview process?
It wasn't a terribly long process like some other companies - an online "test", a call or two, and one in-person interview (pre-covid). Things may have changed since then though.

Our products were technologically out of date in 1999. AMS360 and most other Vertafore products are extremely hard to use, and the engineers don't feel proud to work on them.
