The benefits used to outweigh issues with salary, but some of those benefits are slowly being taken away (no longer fully remote) and other companies are looking much more appealing compared to ours.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is very collaborative and has adapted really well to working remotely. We all work well together and we can rely on each other.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I think that we have a lot of people at our company who are great to be around and work with. Our executive assistant is amazing at planning happy hours and activities for everyone and seems to truly care that we're engaged.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
It's becoming clear that leadership doesn't care about or respect their employees. It doesn't feel like our opinions are valued and when we disagree with decisions, we're told that we're welcome to leave. It would be nice if we felt valued (and not with pizza parties).
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We have lots of customer and employee turnover. Upper management recently implemented a return to office policy with no clear reason as to why we need to start working from the office again, and losing employees due to this is going to make the customer experience worse (less employee knowledge).
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We've discussed salary issues for years and are consistently told that we pay in the middle of what the market does, but also we're top of the market in terms of the company? That doesn't add up. Annual raises and bonuses are poor, along with raises that you get for a promotion.
