I was an external hire, and external hires typically have more compensation leverage than internal hires-- my base comp is fair based on the market.
Comp is fair but benefits are not competitive. I'm aware costs went up for everyone over the past several years-- but if a highly paid salaried EE struggles with benefit costs, how is our hourly workforce supposed to afford them?
