What makes you most happy at work?

Quitting time. Helping customers. Everything else about working for DG is stressful and unpleasant.

What did you like most about the interview process?

If you're a warm body that can pass a background check, you've got a good shot because of the turnover. I was literally told that.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

DG pay is low, work is ridiculous, expectations impossible, low morale, so turnover is high. People don't stay long enough to get fully trained, so you're always, always playing from behind because we're always understaffed because DG is so bad to work for.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

70+ hours of killing myself each week for about $11/hr should be illegal. No sick leave. Pay is too low to participate in 401k, bills come first. You have no value to DG and their pay and benefits prove it. Absolutely horrible place to work.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The measly pay. I'm serious. It is bad but it's still there best thing about the workplace. Most new hires don't last 3 weeks because they have the good sense and opportunity to leave. Shareholder capitalism at its inglorious worst, that keeps culture and environment low and discouraging.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Treating employees like humans instead of machines. DG doesn't care about employees, only making the CEO and shareholders rich. You try working 8 hours without a break, on your feet, lifting 20,000lbs a day and walking about 8 miles. They treat us like animals. Improve that, upper management.
