I've been with the Macy's for over 23 years and the longer you are with them the worst they treat you. When you dedicate most of your career to a company you should be appreciated for your years of hard work and dedication. You just become another number and this is unfortunate.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We have one manager out of five that has a positive attitude and I enjoy working with my colleagues when possible.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Better communication with all associates. Also they should be more positive with there approach and be willing to assist in a timely matter.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We don't have a team we're working with a skeleton crew. Doing the job of 5 associate's and there's only 2 people in the entire department.
What did you like most about the interview process?
At the time the store manager was outstanding. Unfortunately he has moved on to bigger and better things and now we are under the leadership of a unprofessional store manager.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Hire more colleges and pay their longtime associates what they deserve and compensate accordingly. When you dedicate most of your professional career to a company you should be treated fairly and paid accordingly.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
We have to multitask on a daily basis. When you are overseeing a large department and you running 4 areas at the same time, this includes doing, markdowns, processing damages, putting new merchandise on the floor and receive no additional compensation this is a problem.
