I'm proud to contribute to products that are crucial to keeping the Internet running. My contributions are valued by my teammates. There is effectively no opportunity for advancement. I am not compensated appropriately for the ever-growing responsibilities I must bear as a result of hiring policies.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Great people, great work, really important products. I enjoy my work everyday. Absolutely no opportunity for advancement or promotion. A few who ignored the RTO policy led management to rescind many perks we previously enjoyed, which is a slap in the face to those of us who always followed policy.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Work life balance is valued.
What makes you most happy at work?
Accomplishing the tasks at hand while making improvements to legacy code.

Working with my coworkers. Getting the job done and done in the right way.

"Lean but not mean". It's a great way to express the value of our loyalty.

No ego trips. We recognize each others' skills. Everyone is willing to help their teammates.

Willing to share knowledge & experience. No one is above asking for help. Knowledge and abilities are respected. Age does not matter.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
After 8+ years of exceeding expectations, I've never been promoted here. I've always been told it is organization related, and have never been told it is performance related.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Because we have not backfilled team members who quit or were let go, I have significantly more responsibility and work than I used to, and my base salary does not reflect this.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone is always ready to work hard and think hard. We know when to take a break and have fun every few weeks or months. Traditionally we have been given flexibility in our balancing work and life needs, but this has been deteriorating since 2023 or so.
