What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The customers are great, our team is great, our store is very friendly to one another.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our bakery team is 100% supportive of one another, we do everything as a team. Great people.
What makes you most happy at work?
My direct coworkers/team and our customers. Corporate visits are rarely fun however, they arnt constructive. Rarely are they happy with us. They demand more work and cut hours.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Corporate is only financially strangling those who have chose to make a career out of Safeway. Hour are cut, pay raise is small after many years but job remains the same. Constantly have to skip common task to satisfy upper management. Always understaffed.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Our new baker contract is a joke. We are receiving a $0.30 raise on every $1.00 minimum wage goes up. They demand we do more work then is possible in an 8 hour shift and has only cut hours over the years and the amount of work remains the same. Management is nice but corporate is always really rude.
