Absolutely terrible. I would never, ever recommend working at Safeway to absolutely anyone.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Only my coworkers. We bonded over how terrible everything else was and supported each other in getting out.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Better and more compassionate training for managers. Don't overload your workers. Pay for the work that is being done and don't undervalue your employees.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The only highlight was my coworkers. I had a great team. We worked together really well and could deal with the absolutely terrible admin team.
What would you improve about your company's interview process?
I wish I had an opportunity to meet the store manager during my interview because if I had, I wouldn't have accepted the job offer.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Our store manager was one of the most arrogant, rude, uptight people I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. A little compassion and respect for your employees goes a long, long way. You cannot be successful if you treat your employees like they are so far beneath you.
