I have been denied paid rest periods and told I don't get them in spite of my state's labor laws requiring them. My manager regularly stands around talking while we are supposed to zone the store and has even let favorites go home early so only 2 people were zoning the store.

Be more of a team and less of an hierarchy, people might stay at the location longer.

I was able to get along with my manager to the point that she hired me without my having the availability they wanted me to have
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Getting my paid rest periods as required by state law and company mandates would be great. My manager logged onto my register today after I got locked out from not having a lunch break given and told me to keep ringing and I can't just walk away
