What do you like best about the leadership team?
They all listen to you, they are very down to earth and VERY approachable. We often times have drinks with them after hours and actually want to get to know who they are as coworkers instead of superiors.

My high praise for our leadership would easily span well past anything I could fit here, but I'll keep it brief. The culture that has been created here stems from the top down, the talent, hard work, and positivity in inspirational to say the least.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
While not technically part of the compensation package, it would have to be the unlimited PTO. While most companies frown at PTO time taken, this company encourages it, within reason of course.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I don't think I'm appropriately compensated vs. the value I bring to the company, the difficulty of acquiring another individual with roughly an equal skill set, and my future growth potential.

What are some of the best things about your team?
No one is treated as an "inferior" everyone regardless of job title is an important member of the team. We all feel that our contributions whether a lot or little help the company grow in the right direction.

My team is pretty open and supportive . There's a sense of kinship that borders on tribalism, which makes it nice to be in the club, but not so nice to be out of it. Also, more people joke around here.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone here is friendly and approachable. If I didn't have to go home and see the wife and kids every night, I would spend my after hours socializing and having drinks a the company bar.

What needs to change to make the company culture better?
There is a lack of internal consistency at Shipt. Departments are organized into micro-structures or micro-businesses that provide services to other departments. High-level initiatives need cross-functional visions that clarify the goal, rather than several operationalized opinions about a problem.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We either need to be restructured or we need a more transparent and enforced line of communication between departments. Strategy moves so slowly into engineering that most people give up on long-term solutions. That is not a good scenario. All fixes are incredibly hacky and we deserve better.
