Synchrony was founded in 2014 and its current CEO is Brian Doubles. Since its inception 12 years ago, Synchrony has grown to 1600 employees.

Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at Synchrony

Our culture guides how we operate our business to achieve sustainable long-term growth, and how we interact with our stakeholders. At Synchrony, we continuously strive to reduce our impact on the environment and to play our part to promote sustainability and address climate change. Our efforts span from improving our sites’ energy efficiency to expanding our support for electronic vehicles to reducing our paper consumption to reducing our waste.

Synchrony is passionate about protecting the environment and the communities where we live and work. We constantly look for ways to incrementally improve the environment - both inside and out - because we care.

• Our philanthropic program provides female business owners with small business financial education classes, mentoring, and the opportunity to apply for a microenterprise loan. By investing in women entrepreneurs, we support job creation/retention and economic development in our local communities.
• In 2020, Synchrony Foundation awarded a $2 million grant to LISC to provide emergency relief to small businesses hit hard by the pandemic, especially minority- and women-owned businesses. This grant is part of a larger recovery program that also includes connecting small businesses to customizable digital tools and consulting expertise.
• Also, in 2020, the Synchrony Foundation has committed to donating $5 million to nonprofits focused on social justice for African Americans.
• In 2019, our employee volunteers helped combat family homelessness, supported out-of-school care programs, extended a helping hand to first-time college students and put people experiencing a crisis back on the road to financial stability.
