Poor, barely above minimum wage, even the salary barley works out to clear minimum wage

  • 9 per hour

  • For myself personally I’m happy with my pay for my position for the length of time I’ve been with U-Haul. Just over a year and I’ve had 2 raises. As I see it they will pay you if you are reliable and you do your job However if your only there to collect a paycheck than that’s what you will get.

Simple and lack of true expectations

  • LOL, it is simple and last 2 minutes. They tell what your position requires, you except then the job is yours. They care nothing if your work history, do not call previous employer's or references or if you have proper transportation. They will hire anyone off the streets that pass their assessment test. Managers just want enough employees there so they don't have to be. You don't have to dress to impress, a pair of jeans and and a dirty t-shirt will do. They even conduct interviews over the phone to make it faster and convenient for them.

  • Quick and easy

Asked to all employees at U-Haul

  • they pick the best person for the job

  • They try to promote within and as long as you show interest you have a great chance to be promoted

  • It up to the manager to approve your promotion. They do not show seniority or give everyone the opportunity. You can ask but if you do not have a fabulous connection with the manager they will brush you off. If your manager says no it won't happen unless you have other connections with someone above the manager.

Asked to all employees at U-Haul

  • They are AWSOME !!!

  • We all get along very well

  • Most are very friendly, untrained. They learn and figure things out their selves due to the lack of management training and guidance. Most have full time jobs else where or are full time students. No one stays long. They have a high roll over of employees.

Asked to the Customer Support Department at U-Haul

  • Stressful and lacks communication. 10 to 20

  • It’s fine and I work 35 to 40 hours a week

  • The vibe is, you come in do your hours and leave. It does not matter if you know the job just wing it and someone else will fix it later. They laugh and talk crap about other people and ignore the phone lines most of the time. I work more hours then I should.

Asked to the Customer Support Department at U-Haul

  • Horrible

  • It’s not as good as it should be

  • The leadership is terrible, they do not work as a team and the leaders do not have a clue of the aspects of support because they do not know the proper functions. Half of the time the leaders are not around or available for support or guidance yet they get all the praise and bonuses while other team members get nothing.

Asked to all employees at U-Haul

  • For the most part they are positive about our CEO. As far as changes. You would need to get with them.

  • He has no idea of the lack of assistance that is given. They do more for the leaders and nothing for the other employees. Managers get large bonuses and nothing for other team members. They/he can start showing more appreciation to the other employees who actually make things happen and less on the managers that actually do nothing but still time and undermean other employees. Also listen and communicate with the team members not just the leaders. Actually show you care about the welfare of the individuals that actually do all the work. A free turkey is nice every year for the holidays but they work hard and deserve a lot more.

  • No idea. They're so out of touch with the average employee.

Asked to all employees at U-Haul

  • Great

  • There is no feedback. Managers say they should not have to tell anyone how they are doing, they should already know themselves.

  • Easy for customers to do. But for some reason positive reviews are rarely put into the system.

Very stale. Not a lot of room for growth or innovation.

  • Supposedly it's like a family, if your family were to force you to eat healthy, penalize you for bad habits, and fire you for standing up for basic human rights.

  • Work is fast paced, can be stressful and overwhelming st times, but being able to meet and help new people every day is very rewarding. The CEO of the company cares about the employees and just gave every hourly employee in the company a $500 bonus and pays for every full time employee’s insurance premiums.
