What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Telecommuting is the best perk offered by Optum. This is a smart and effective way to work, saving employees (and the company) time and money. Optum has figured out how to manage telecommuters and has shown success in working with teams that are not co-located.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
It's important to negotiate for the highest salary possible when you join Optum, as merit increases are typically below 1% a year and bonuses vary widely each year. Incoming professionals are often paid more than current employees who have proven track records and would be costly to replace.
