Our team works collaboratively across sub-teams to figure out how accomplish our top-level goals despite headwinds such as increased bureaucracy and layoffs.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There is a disconnect between paper strategies like "become an AI company" and actual implementable strategies to bridge to that future. In the absence of clear leadership, "the power of and" signals there are no priorities and we should do everything, resulting in constantly shifting tactical goals
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Make decisions and stick to them. Leadership in the past year has avoided making commitments. The commitments they have made have been reversed or reanalyzed many times. This leads to increased pressure on teams to do everything at once with too few resources to anything well, and caused the outage.
