RCE has maintained a Hopin-esque culture which has helped I have heard from others that this is the best part of RC culture now so my viewpoint is perhaps skewed. I do worry for the future of RCE at RC in general. I think RCE Studio should be a separate product to go after the large studio market.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
RCE has a very good culture that was brought over from Hopin.
What makes you most happy at work?
Solving interesting problems for RCE attendees and hosts e.g. RCE Studio. Having autonomy to come up with solutions alongside product and design. Not being weighed down by process e.g. Agile/Scrum. Being paid well.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Promotions and salary review. I've been waiting 2 years for a salary review whilst delivering far more than others. Bonus being shared equally through departments is not fair when some engineers produce far more value.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
As said previously i think bonus should be given on individual merit to make it a more productive and rewarding company. I think all employees should have access to "unlimited holiday" and parental leave benefits US employees have.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Engineers can, if they choose, work closely with design and product and have autonomy to make good product/user led decisions. We can make real impact quickly to users. The product, RCE Studio, is technically challenging and interesting to lead.
