I have worked at several large tech companies and Alkami stands alone as the absolute best. We have all the perks and power of other fintech organizations with very few, if any, of the toxic drawbacks that come with the industry.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
It's about 50/50 positive and negative. The job itself is great. Most leadership is great. It's just that the negative parts are REALLY negative and feedback is not heard or acted upon. If you're not praising the company, no one wants to hear it. We bury negative feedback and push dissenters out.

Being paid at market value - a living wage for my area, even.

I'm paid unfairly and have no clear path to improvement in this role.

I like that I get a stipend for working remotely to cover home office expenses.

My team is incredibly well balanced with each person bringing a different strength to the table.

We have a lot of leadership that is not being trained on how to properly lead.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Our leadership is very hands-on and makes an effort to understand what's happening on every level of the organization.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Cascading information down to teams in a timely manner and with proper change management consideration (i.e. no surprise rug-pulls).
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More focus on remote culture, less effort put towards trying to improve an onsite culture that no longer exists.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Most leadership tries to be dialed in to what's happening across the entire company, not just within their own team.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We don't spend time entertaining the new wave of fascism being forced on companies lately - we're worrying about the business and not policing individual rights.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
If I was paid market rate for my position and if I didn't have peers with lower performance, less qualifications, and less experience making $20K a year more than myself due to personal relationships within the company.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
There is a feeling of newness and growth that isn't present in many other established companies which also lends to an attitude of LEARNING rather than punitive measures. Mistakes are treated as an opportunity to grow rather than a mark on your record.
