The people I work with every day are fantastic, including my manager. Leadership cares about quality for clients. But we've had a lot of decisions which have impacted quality of life for teams, poor communication on these changes, after hours work requirements, etc. We are on a path to burnout.
Goals are often not shared across departments. Process changes feel chaotic and less Agile. Understaffed. I spend less and less time doing work relevant to my role and more time on other commitments. Meanwhile, I enjoy working for my manager and with my teammates.
Emphasis on team work and team collaboration.
The enthusiasm on the leadership team is high.
Very collaborative spirit, good work ethic, great communicators, everyone's intelligent and good at what they do
Delivering a feature, on time and appropriately tested/documented, that specifically improves accessibility in banking for an end user.
As an engineer, the opportunities I have to work on something new or technically challenging, particularly when requirements are clear.
We're starting to develop a culture where people are thought of as being interchangeable pieces (undervaluing). Rather than team members with differing strengths. Compensation is not keeping up with inflation.
I like that we have charity opportunities + participation with a mentoring program, and that we have an active diversity & inclusion team. I like the size of our engineering teams.
My team collaborates and communicates well, is dedicated to doing things the 'right' way rather than the easy way, and puts clients and quality first. They are all intelligent and creative people.
Preserving the culture of collaboration and professional trust. Respect for concerns - allow clarifying questions without becoming defensive... take feedback in good faith, as we're asked to do about roll-outs of huge changes.
We care about the community (eg through "Alkami Cares Together" program), DEIA, and our team members' quality of life. My team and manager are supportive. Many people at this company genuinely care about clients' needs and are extremely helpful.
Contributing to the product positively. I love being able to work on features that make clients' lives easier, and I also love being able to improve the quality of the product internally so it's easier for my team to maintain.
Drive and energy, seem to genuinely care about customers and improving our product, willing to put in hard work to achieve goals; they don't just hand down orders from on high but are personally involved in seeing their decisions play out.
My pay is lower than similar positions in the industry. We routinely have new responsibilities added but no increase in compensation. There should be some kind of compensation for after hours work. The path to promotion is also not particularly clear.
The team has great communication and an attitude of respect and trust. Opportunities for learning are met with patience and instruction. Additionally everyone on the team is really skilled at what they do, and responsive to the rapid changes we've faced over the past couple of years.
