  • The engineering team doesn't realize that fulfillment center associates are human. They do not take intangibles into consideration when creating processes. Then these processes can change daily if not sooner.

  • The relationship is strained thanks to the massive discrepancy between pay and expectations. Our Engineering group usually works at what can best be called a tepid pace and they get openly annoyed whenever anyone asks for a quicker response to a serious problem such as a shut down line.

  • My group is made up of 3 engineering teams. There are about 3 women on the team and a few others in product management. We have to try harder to bring in more diversity

  • Depends mostly on which service you are in. They vary quite a lot in maturity of operations and development activities. In mine, it's relatively laid-back. On-call is a pain, but the rotation is spread around enough that it's not too frequent. And there are tons of smart people to work with, and learn from!
