environmental salary evaluation and compensation for revenue generated not just on corporate performance

The work life balance is favorable, the contributions are a team effort coupled with an individual effort that I control for the most part

The opportunities for promotion are not fair and for departmental heads to be leaders not just department heads. Information should be shared more openly and deliberately.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

unbalanced equality, contributions being minimized, lack of communication. unrealistic workload. Stop assumptions, improve the quality of the communication and actual leading vs. managing. Reward on performance and contribution not what you have in common with an associate for personal benefit.
