Love Choice overall! Everyone I have met, in every department, has been welcoming and helpful since I joined Choice. I love how they embrace new ideas, inclusion, and diversity. While I do not like the leadership change in my department, I am confident all will be resolved if I hang in there!
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I love the Choice Cultural Values and feel like the leadership team strives to reinforce those mores throughout the company. However, I'm not sure that those cultural values are as respected and implemented by some managers within the company.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Definitely the Cultural Values: performance excellence, integrity & trust, respect, collaboration, innovation, customer focus, inclusion & diversity, and sense of urgency. I believe these tenets set Choice apart and are a major part of the reason I wanted to work here!
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone is always willing to help! Whether it's questions about a system, needing coverage for time off - anything - our team really steps up to the plate!!! Also, everyone is very nice, there is no drama, and the entire team is very inclusive.
What makes you most happy at work?
I love the analysis and research part of my job (love numbers and spreadsheets). I enjoy being able to problem solve and help hotels improve their revenue. I also love being able to mentor and assist other revenue managers, as I've always held mentor/training positions in the past.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Most other companies have performance bonuses or allow for Christmas bonuses (or something similar) from their franchisees. If I average my performance bonus from my last job, I took a $20K pay cut. But I accepted that because of the culture, which is no longer being embraced by my management team
