I love what I do and I love working for Lamar. Times have been tough recently and that is unfortunate. We all have to navigate it but because this company is so large and there are so many different job aspects, its hard not to compare different groups!
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
It has been good. Times are tough though, and so I hope things change quickly!
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everyone is friendly throughout the different departments.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My VP and GM are both women. I love to see successful women leaders!
What are some of the best things about your team?
Lamar is a family! It is so wonderful to work with so many awesome people! I wouldn't trade my coworkers for anything!
What makes you most happy at work?
Knowing that I can do this job well after 9 years with Lamar and that I can assist with providing for my family.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I know that in general Lamar is a great company with respectable values. Our CEO is humble in person and has a presence through emails, videos, announcement, etc.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I think in general, everyone who works here knows that we have good benefits, we work for a good company, and I would venture to say most feel like we work with good people.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I am burnt out & broke. Financially, this has been the toughest year yet! The cost of living is just out of control and it's hard to stay positive when things don't seem to be getting any better!
What are some of the best things about your team?
We are a family at our plant. We are with our coworkers more than anyone else Monday- Friday and I genuinely look forward to coming to work because I know I get to navigate the day with great people.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I think there are probably several people like myself that work hard and are responsible for a lot of things and only compensated for the minimum in which we are employed to do. Also, with such tough economic times, I don't feel like leadership recognizes that for the employees at lower levels.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I have been with the company for 10 years. The cost of living is so high right now, and I am disappointed we have not seen any consideration of that in our yearly increase. As a non-commissioned employee, we have been busy and are having a banner year, yet I am feeling very depleted and struggling!
