The CEO who has led the company through the divestiture is - no joke - probably a genius. He has an outstanding execution record, a gold plated background, and cares about people. One of a handful of people I have seen I can be truly passionate to deliver for.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
Good healthcare package, holidays and a lot of employee benefit programs

I like how tied to the success of the company and my function that my bonus is. Each quarter, i can clearly trace how I get rewarded for us accomplishing enterprise goals.

The variable compensation encourages all employees to work on a combination of MBO and unit performance goals. Everyone has a stake in what "success" looks like and then achieving it.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
The teams here get so myopic about their area of execution that it results in silos all over the place. That's as much a people problem here as a tools problem.

The teams here are really focused on moving forward and getting things done. There is a little bit of drag from lack of investment in liked areas, but for the most part people feel like they can be the solution.

What did you like most about the interview process?
Even if the process took a couple of months, I was contacted often by the person who was responsible for the process as well as my future manager. I have never had this level of communication in other workplace.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
McAfee is really struggling to maintain a pace of engineering consistent with the market. Rather than innovation, a lot of product enhancements are "me too". The sprawl of products and legacy maintenance requires us to "peanut butter" resources rather than create differentiation.

McAfee has a long history in the cyber security space. At times, that history is colorful, but it is definitely strong.

We need to make some big bets and take a little risk. No top line problem has ever been solved by carefully managing the bottom line.
