We all get along and support each other in and out of work. It feels like I have genuine friends in my coworkers.
What did you like most about the interview process?
The fact that my job experience was enough to impress my GM. And the fact that I knew other people at my cafe upon being hired.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Our current management team is great, even while understaffed. Some of the younger managers are not the best at handling conflict, but with time, they will get there.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The majority of my coworkers are very accepting of those of us who are part of the LGBTQ+ and disabled conmunities. Management is also very understanding as well.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Training for managers and associates is lacking and not unified. There is no set standard that everyone can agree on. Or if there is, not everyone will follow that standard.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
For as much as we put up with as service workers, $14/hr for a team lead position is significantly less than similar positions that pay upwards of $4 more. Panera does not value its employees enough to pay them fair wages.
