Our team is personable and hard working. Occasionally a hired person will decide to quit without showing up, however this is rare, and the interview process usually weeds out people who would do such a thing.
I never received my raise for gaining a position. However, this was because our store had gone through three general managers in three years. All that change allowed none of them any time to secure my raise.
There is a lot of pressure on each individual worker due to being understaffed. There needs to be more people applying to the job that are willing to actually do hard work, not just skate by hoping for a recommendation.
I was interviewed directly by the general manager, and at the time he was always someone who encouraged people to go out of their comfort zone. He had faith in me when I was coming from a cosmetic store, so that says a lot.
