This company used to be unique in the corporate world. I used to love it. There was a passion for bread and the customers. The employees were cared about and there was a warm/caring culture. As leadership has changed, our unique bakery and warm culture has been forgotten to save money.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My teams cares for each other and my RBOM holds us all together.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Taking care of it's employees, valuing the input from those actually in cafes. Realizing the unique advantage we have offering fresh baked bread as a BAKERY/cafe. Restructure management on a retail/bakery level. A lot are over worked, under paid, and under staffed.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Understaffed. Not putting the same value into excellent customer experience. Over stressed and under payed staff makes for a poor customer experience. Restructure cafe/bakery management to balance the work load, pay appropriately. Bring the warmth and meaningful relationships back to our culture.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I am hiring candidates that will make more than myself once they complete training. I am a manager and I have been with the company 8 years full time. I would like a drastic reevaluation of the pay structure. Mainly I want a qualified boss who can do their job.
